Brian Cox says things can only get better for DReam and Starmer but worse for Sunak at the Election

Brian Cox on the Return of Things Can Only Get Better

TV's Brian Cox clearly enjoyed the UK election announcement last week and the subsequent revival of Dream's Things Can Only Get Better.

The track, famously associated with the Labour Party's 1997 campaign, played just as Sunak was making his speech in the rain in Downing St, creating the perfect anti-Tory meme.

Cox, who played keyboards for Dream in the 90s, tweeted suggesting an alternative theme tune for Sunak's big moment.

It was funny Brian but do stop deflecting and just embrace your big moment.

The timing of the song was particularly poignant as it undermined Sunak’s big moment of political theatre and symbolised the massive desire for change in the UK, reminiscent of the mood surrounding Tony Blair's victory.

Let's hope you'll be joining the band on-stage at Glastonbury Brian! (p.s. you were great in Succession)
